Le contrecoup de la nomination de Wilmots. Convoqué pour les deux rencontres amicales des Éléphants contre la Russie et le Sénégal (23 et 27 mars), le latéral droit du PSG doit déclarer forfait. Resté à Paris, puisque c’est là que la sélection s’est réunie, Serge Aurier a été déclaré inapte par le staff médical de l’équipe.Thomas Meunier se tient prêt.
